Longboards Cafe & Bar is the
makeover of the former Hungry Whale located at Pickering Wharf in Salem
MA. The Hungry Whale has always served great food, and the owners, the
Mattera brothers, have expanded their restaurant and menu. They are also
adding what appears to be a large varieties of microbrews for you beer
aficionados out there (that would include me!).

Bagel Place) in Salem? It opened a little while ago but I haven't had a
chance to try it yet. Personally, I love
Mexican food, and to have another place in Salem where I can
get some great south-of-the-border cuisine is fine with me. This will
make the 5th place that specializes in Mexican, though many others (like
the Pig's Eye) do have it on their menu.

sell kitchen gadgets and accessories, and teas, spices, herbs and blends
from around the world. Salem used to be the spice capital of the United
States, and now you can choose from over 300 different types of spices
Lynde Street Cafe is now open for
dinner on Thursday/Friday/Saturday evenings from 5pm until 9pm. They
serve a variety of Greek Food and Wine. If you haven't stopped by for
their great breakfast or lunch because you don't work locally, now is
your chance to try them out.
The Village Tavern is now open at 168 Essex Street in Salem (formerly Lakay Island) across
from the Peabody Essex Museum. It is on the pedestrian mall so you can't
just drive up to it, but there is plenty of parking in the garage (free
validation provided) which is located directly above the restaurant (and
there is a secret staircase that goes directly into the restaurant!).
